USB PD (Power Delivery)

USB PD (Power Delivery) is supported for fast in-camera battery charging* and more efficient power supply**, plus compatibility with external USB batteries and AC adaptors to extend recording times without battery drain.

* USB charging and power delivery are only supported via the USB Type-C® terminal. A battery must be installed in the camera when supplying USB power. The internal battery may drain even if USB power is supplied, depending on the adaptor used and camera operating conditions.

** Compared to conventional USB power supply used in previous models.

Consideration for the environment

Aiming to achieve a zero environmental footprint

Inspired by the beauty of the world, Sony is doing its part to help preserve the Earth while still allowing creators to produce even more beautiful and creative imagery. The "Road to Zero" logo

Applying our plan to the α7 IV

The α7 IV is no exception as we work to help preserve the environment

As with other new Sony products, the entire environmental lifecycle of the α7 IV has been considered, through development, production, packaging and logistics. High-performance recycled—and recyclable—plastic is used for various camera body components, alongside more recyclable packaging. Our production sites also leverage renewable, large-scale solar generation to reduce production energy impacts0.
