How can I enter the SMS service center (SMSC) number manually? (Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus)

    If you can’t send, but only receive, text messages, you might need to set the SMS service center number (SMSC) manually. The SMS service center number is stored on your SIM card and is dependent on your network operator. Contact your network operator for the correct SMS service center number.

    To set or change the SMS service center number on your SIM card

    1. Find and tap Phone.
    2. If the dialpad does not appear, tap the dialpad icon.
    3. Type *#*#4636#*#*.
    4. Tap Phone information.
    5. Scroll down to SMSC.
    6. Tap Refresh to get the current number and the format it uses. If Refresh error or Update error appears, contact your network operator.
    7. Enter the relevant SMSC number in the input field using the correct format, then tap Update. If Update error appears, contact your network operator.
