    Peform Manual Capture from DV equipment using DVgate Plus

    Please follow the steps below:

    Step 1: Select a connected device and an operation mode
    1. Click Start -> All Programs -> DVgate Plus -> DVgate Plus.
    2. Click DV.
    3. Click the Manual Capture tab.

    Step 2: Make the settings in the Capture Settings dialog box
    The saving format of the file can be changed before capturing images.
    1. Click the Settings tab and click Capture.
    2. Click the DV tab and select the options as below:

    A. File type menu
    Select a format to save the file. Descriptions for the various formats are as below:

    - DV CODEC AVI 1.0 (*.avi)
    An image file exceeding 2GB (about 9 minutes 30 seconds) in size is automatically divided and saved.
    Select this format to use softwares that cannot handle DV CODEC AVI 2.0.

    - DV CODEC AVI 2.0 (*.avi)
    This format is for saving a long play video to one file.

    - Audio only (*.wav format)
    This format is for saving only the audio of video as a WAVE file.

    B. Audio Source menu
    Select the type of audio to be captured from the following.

    - Stereo 1
    - Stereo 2

    C. When Stereo 2 or SUB (SAP) is not available, use Stereo 1 or MAIN as the audio source option
    Select this option to capture audio in Stereo 1 or MAIN when nothing is in Stereo 2 or SUB.
    Note: Use this option when selecting Stereo 2.

    D. Do not divide by time or file size option
    Select this option is to save the captured image without dividing it.
    Note: This option cannot be selected DV CODEC AVI 1.0 format is selected.

    E. Divide by time option
    Select this option to save the captured image by dividing it by a given length of time.

    F. Divide by file size option
    Select this option to save the captured image by dividing it by a given file size.

    G. Recover Lost Frames option
    Select this option to recover lost frames automatically if any.
    Note: The frame recover function does not work in the Manual Capture mode.

    Step 3: Change the destination to save the file if required
    The captured images are stored to the Video folder of the D: drive at the default settings.
    To maintain the default settings, proceed to Step 4.
    To change the destination to save the file, refer to the steps below:
    1. On the Manual Capture tab, click Browse in the Save in box.
    2. Make the desired settings.

    Step 4: Capture images
    1. Playback the movie using the External Device Control button.
    2. Click Capture.
    3. When capture competes, click Stop Capture.
    4. Repeat the above procedure to capture the entire movie.
