E 70–350 mm F4.5–6.3 G OSS
Optimised optical and mechanical design offers outstanding super-telephoto zoom performance for APS-C bodies (105–525 mm equiv.). Impressive G Lens quality is maintained throughout the zoom range right out to the image edges. All of this is packed into a compact, mobile 5x super-telephoto zoom lens with built-in optical image stabilisation.
Coupled with α E-mount cameras from Sony, APS-C E-mount lenses deliver big camera performance.
One aspherical element and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements in a precision optical design suppress aberration throughout the zoom range, including chromatic aberration that can be an issue at super-telephoto focal lengths. Excellent sharpness and rendering are achieved at all zoom settings, throughout the image area. Gorgeous telephoto G Lens bokeh is another advantage.
Although it offers a big 5x zoom range, this compact lens weighs in at just 625 g, enhancing the mobility of the entire camera system. 70–350 mm (105–525 mm equiv.) is an ideal range for a wide spectrum of subjects. Built-in optical image stabilisation makes it easier to capture crisp, blur-free imagery even when shooting handheld at super-telephoto focal lengths.
Sony's original XD (extreme dynamic) linear motor technology has been applied in an APS-C lens, offering top-class autofocus performance that is fast, precise, and tenacious. Coupled with the advanced real-time AF capability of the latest compact APS-C bodies, you have a high-performance, easy-handling system for landscapes, wildlife and more.
An Optical SteadyShot switch, customisable focus hold button, and zoom lock switch add control convenience to a lens that also features a dust and moisture resistant design for high reliability in challenging environmental conditions. All of this complements the lens’s portability, making pro-class control and dependability available wherever you go.
Impeccable Sony G Lens design emphasises a graceful balance between high resolution and gorgeous background bokeh that can enhance the artist’s vision.

MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) describes how well a lens can reproduce fine details, measured as the degree of contrast achieved between finely spaced lines.
Contrast (%) Distance from optical centre of lens (mm) At 70 mm / Max. aperture At 70 mm / F8 aperture At 350 mm / Max. aperture At 350 mm / F8 aperture Spatial frequency 10 line pairs / mm 30 line pairs / mm Radial values Tangential values
