How to import the audio data saved to the hard disk?

    Importing the audio data saved to the hard disk

    A. To select and import a file to SonicStage
    1. Click Start and then click All Programs -> SonicStage -> SonicStage.
    2. Click Import and select a format of the audio file to be imported.
    3. Click the folder containing the audio file to be imported and click on the file to be imported.
    4. Click the destination playlist, set the format and bit rate of import as below, when necessary:

    * Import file to a playlist without format conversion (For PC use only) option
    Selecting this option will import the audio file on the computer to Music Drive in the current format and bit rate.
    * Always convert to Open MG (ATRAC3) option
    Selecting this option will import the audio file on the computer to Music Drive by converting it to the ATRAC3 format.
    To check out the imported audio file to the following devices or media, please select this option.
    - Devices/media supporting the ATRAC3 format only
    - MD inserted to the Net MD slot built in the computer
    - MG memory stick inserted to the memory stick slot built in the computer

    5. After completing the settings, click OK and click Import.
    The audio file is imported to the playlist.

    B. To select and import a folder to SonicStage
    1. Click Start and then click All Programs -> SonicStage -> SonicStage.
    2. Click Import and select a file format of the audio file to be imported.
    3. Click the folder containing the audio file to be imported
    4. Click the destination playlist, set the format and bit rate of import as below, when necessary:

    * Import file to a playlist without format conversion (For PC use only) option
    Selecting this option will import the audio file on the computer to Music Drive in the current format and bit rate.
    * Always convert to Open MG (ATRAC3) option
    Selecting this option will import the audio file on the computer to Music Drive by converting it to the ATRAC3 format.
    To check out the imported audio file to the following devices or media, please select this option.
    - Devices/media supporting the ATRAC3 format only
    - MD inserted to the Net MD slot built in the computer
    - MagicGate Memory Stick inserted to the memory stick slot built in the computer

    5. After completing the settings, click OK and click Import.
    Only those audio files under the selected folder can be imported with the above procedure.
    Audio files that exist in the folders in lower layers under the selected folder cannot be imported.

    C. To import audio files altogether
    1. Click Start and then click All Programs -> SonicStage -> SonicStage.
    2. Click Import and click Import All.
    3. Perform the following settings:

    * File Location
    Click the drive or the folder containing the audio file and select the option.
    * File Type to import
    Select a file type of the audio file to be imported from the pull-down menu.
    * Settings button
    Clicking Settings to determine whether to import the audio file on the computer without converting the format or by converting it to the ATRAC3 format or the ATRAC3 Plus format.
    * Import file to a playlist without format conversion (For PC use only) option button
    Selecting this option imports the audio file on the computer to Music Drive in the current format and bit rate.
    * Always convert to Open MG (ATRAC3) button
    Selecting this option imports the audio file on the computer to Music Drive by converting it to the ATRAC3 format.
    To check out the imported audio file to the following devices or media, please select this option.
    - Devices/media supporting the ATRAC3 format only
    - MD inserted to the Net MD slot built in the computer
    - MagicGate Memory Stick inserted to the Memory Stick slot built in the computer
    On the Bit Rate pull-down menu, select a bit rate with which the file is to be converted to the ATRAC3 format.
    * Always convert to OpenMG (ATRAC3 plus) button
    Selecting this option imports the audio file on the computer to Music Drive by converting it to the ATRAC3 plus format.
    To check out the imported audio file to the devices supporting the ATRAC3 plus format, please select this option.
    On the Bit Rate pull-down menu, select a bit rate with which the file is to be converted to the ATRAC3 plus format.

    4. Click Next.
    5. The list of files among the selected audio files on the drive which can be imported to Music Drive will be shown.
    6. Click Finish to begin the import.
