How to disable AutoPlay of CD-ROM in Windows 2000.
Make the following settings in order to disable AutoPlay when CD-ROM and music CD are inserted in the CD player.
(Operational Procedure 1)
Insert Music CD with "Shift" key pressed.
If you want to disable AutoPlay function for some of CD-ROM media, the setting mentioned above is effective.
(Operational Procedure 2)
1. Click "Run" from the "Start" button.
2. Enter "gpedit.msc" in the "Run" window and click the "OK" button. Then, the "Group Policy" window appears.
3. On the "Group Policy" window, go into "Local Computer Policy"- "Computer Configuration" - "Administrative Templates"- "System." Then, double-click "Disable AutoPlay".
4. Turn on the checkbox of "Enabled" on the "Disable AutoPlay Properties" window and click the "OK" button.
Executing the above operation has disabled AutoPlay of CD-ROM.
In the state right after the installation of Windows 2000, the "Not Configured" option button is turned on in the "Disable AutoPlay
Properties" window.
In this setting, AutoPlay of CD-ROM is carried out.
When the "Disabled" option button is turned on, AutoPlay of CD-ROM is carried out as well.
On the other hand, when the "Enabled" button is turned on, AutoPlay of CD-ROM is not carried out.

The setting above (Operational Procedure 2) is not applied for Music CDs.
In the case of Music CD, please follow Operaional Procedure 1.
