Take the hassle out of vlog and interview audio with the wireless ECM-W2BT. Because it's wireless, it allows stress-free shooting and delivers clear audio in diverse environments, without worrying about the direction of the mic or the distance from the mic.
The ECM-W2BT can be positioned close to the speaker's mouth with a clip. The omnidirectional mic capsule also helps to pick up your voice clearly wherever it's coming from, so there's no need to worry about which way the unit is facing.
Unlike conventional analogue audio transmission, you'll never need to worry about cable signal interference. Just pair the ECM-W2BT with the compatible Sony camera with a Digital Audio Interface via a Multi Interface (MI) Shoe for clear, low-noise, all-digital audio.
An attenuator function lets you easily adjust recording levels appropriately to match the source. Simply flip a switch to reduce the level of very loud sounds or amplify quiet ones, for optimised audio levels.
The unit comes with a wind screen, allowing comfortable recording when shooting outside. Just attach the wind screen to the mic, and it effectively reduces wind noise as well as breath noise, for clear and stable sound even when shooting outdoors on a windy day.
Qualcomm® aptX™ Low Latency Bluetooth® codec is used for transmission between the microphone and receiver units, ensuring low latency and undiminished audio quality. It helps avoid the stress of having to re-record audio due to interruptions in the recorded sound, and low latency enables better matching of the audio track with the video imagery.

Thanks to a capacity twice as large as with conventional setups, the improved wireless connectivity greatly reduces the risk of interruption to the audio stream, even in crowded settings with a lot of wireless activity. In a location with good visibility without obstacles, communication is possible at up to 200 metres, allowing greater flexibility in camera and audio setups.

There's no need to worry about battery life even during a day of extended outdoor shooting, thanks to the long battery life of the ECM-W2BT. When paired with cameras which support power supply via an MI Shoe, you can shoot up to nine hours wirelessly.
With its moisture- and dust-resistant design, the ECM-W2BT is set up for comfortable outdoor shooting. Its components incorporate weather-sealed seams and port covers to help maximise dust and moisture resistance.
When you're shooting with a two-person configuration (on-camera performer and camera operator), you can still depend on the ECM-W2BT for your audio needs. In addition to the main wireless microphone there's also an internal microphone inside the receiver unit, allowing you to record both the camera operator and the main subject.
Set the mic in a central position by using the connector protect holder included with the unit as a microphone stand. The omnidirectional microphone will capture audio from everyone, even when shooting multiple people.
Add that extra professional touch to your vlog production with a more realistic-sounding audio track. The microphone is expandable via the 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack on the transmitter, and an ECM-LV1 can be connected for high-quality stereo sound.
In addition to simple connections to Sony cameras equipped with an MI Shoe, the ECM-W2BT can also be used with a wide variety of other cameras and equipment. A 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack output lets you connect the receiver to other cameras, PCs, digital voice recorders, or any device with an analogue audio input.
The all-black, simple and unobtrusive design of the ECM-LV1 enables distraction-free audio recording, for use with any type of clothing. The clip rotates 360 degrees, which allows it to be positioned anywhere on your clothing.
The ECM-W2BT is light in weight and easy to carry, providing excellent mobility especially when shooting outdoors. The microphone unit weighs in at just 27 grams (1.0 oz) while the receiver is 28 grams (1.0 oz), so they won't weigh you down during a shoot.
With a Sony camera equipped with an MI Shoe you can enjoy a cable-free setup, eliminating worries about troublesome cables and accidental disconnection. The Digital Audio Interface available on compatible cameras also ensures pristine, high-quality digital sound.
A switch on the receiver lets you select from three available pickup modes—microphone only, receiver only or a mix of both microphone and receiver.
The ECM-W2BT features clear indicator LEDs on the receiver for peace of mind while recording. A LINK lamp shows the status of communication between the microphone and receiver, while a POWER lamp indicates remaining battery charge.
The connector protect holder included with the ECM-W2BT can be used to carry the receiver and microphone together as one unit. The holder is designed to make it easy to use the receiver and microphone in combination, and it also functions as a handy storage unit when you want to take the ECM-W2BT with you somewhere.
