IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article.

Subtitles are typically transcriptions of the audio portion of content displayed on the TV screen. They include sound effects and scenic narration, but whether non-speech elements are available depends on the content.

The subtitle feature is enabled by pressing the SUBTITLE (CC)  button on the TV remote control.
This feature is available on TV broadcasts and apps. (subtitles may not be available for some TV broadcasts and apps).

Apps: Whether a given app supports the subtitle feature depends on the app. Some apps, such as Netflix, enable subtitles by using their own setting menu instead of pressing the SUBTITLE (CC)  button on the TV remote control. In addition, some apps can change the text size and color.

    • Visit the support site of the apps for detailed information, including how to enable features.
    • As of February 2021, the above information is confirmed. The specification of Netflix is subject to change without notice.
    • For YouTube, subtitle feature can be enabled by pressing the SUBTITLE (CC)  button on the TV remote control.

TV broadcasts: Two types of subtitles might be available, depending on the TV program.
Press the SUBTITLE (CC)  button on the TV remote control to select either Basic or For hard of hearing.

    • Basic: Subtitles only display audio portion of the content.
    • For hard of hearing: Subtitles display audio portion and non-speech elements of the content, such as door knocking sound.

Your TV will display For hard of hearing subtitles whenever it is available by following below direction:
