How to set up and use the Wi-Fi Direct feature of the Android TV™/Google TV™ with Wi-Fi Direct capable device
Please refer to the following settings:
- Enable the Built-in Wi-Fi setting on your TV.
- Open the
Settings screen. How to access Settings
- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Network & Internet — Wi-Fi — change to On. (For Android™ 9 or later)
- Select Network — Advanced settings — Built-in Wi-Fi — change to On. (For Android 8.0 or earlier)
- Open the
- Turn on the Wi-Fi Direct setting of the TV.
NOTE: If your TV is Android 8.0 Oreo™ or later, skip this step.- Using the TV remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select Settings.
- Select Network in the NETWORK & ACCESSORIES category.
- Select Wi-Fi Direct, and change to On.
- Display the TV's WPA key.
- Open the

- Select Network & Internet or Network.
- Select Wi-Fi Direct.
- Select Wi-Fi Direct Settings.
- Select Show Network (SSID)/Password.

The SSID and the WPA key will be displayed on the TV screen.
NOTE: Additional information is available if you need to change the device name or SSID of the TV.
- On the Wi-Fi setting of the Wi-Fi Direct device, select the SSID of the TV and enter the WPA Key displayed on the TV screen as the password.
- If the connection is successful, the message Wi-Fi device is connected is displayed on the TV screen.
- Open the
TV setup is complete. Proceed to set up your mobile device.
