Cast a Chrome browser tab or entire desktop to your TV from your computer.
This article shows you how to cast a Chrome browser tab, or the entire desktop, from your computer to a TV.
NOTE: Most web content will be displayed, but some plugins, like Silverlight, QuickTime, and VLC, will not work.
To show Chrome on your TV, you’ll need:
- Sony’s Android TV™/Google TV™
- A computer and Wi-Fi network with the minimum system requirements
- Your TV and computer must be connected to the same network
- The latest version of the Chrome browser must be installed on the computer

- Click Help — About Google Chrome.

Troubleshooting
Cast a Google Chrome Browser tab
- Launch the Google Chrome browser.
- Click the More
icon on the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
- Click Cast....
NOTES:
- Once Cast... is clicked, the cast icon appears next to the More
icon and a Cast To window will appear.
- When casting web sites or apps like Netflix service, YouTube™ videos, Stan, Presto, or Quickflix, tap the Cast icon on the app or the web site.
- Once Cast... is clicked, the cast icon appears next to the More
- Select the TV model.
NOTE: The Google Cast icon located on the top right corner of the Chrome browser will appear in blue
once it successfully connected to the TV.

When you've finished, to the right of the address bar, click the Cast
icon — Stop.
Cast your computer screen
You can display your entire computer screen using the Chrome browser on a Mac, Windows or Chromebook computer.
NOTE: To hear audio on your TV, use a Windows computer.
- Launch the Google Chrome browser.
- Click the More
icon on the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
- Click Cast....
NOTES:
- Once Cast... is clicked, the cast icon appears next to the More
icon and a Cast To window will appear.
- When casting web sites or apps like Netflix service, YouTube™ videos, Stan, Presto, or Quickflix, tap the Cast icon on the app or the web site.
- Once Cast... is clicked, the cast icon appears next to the More
- Select the TV model.

Select Cast desktop.

On Share your entire screen setting, click the screen image to share, tick share audio.

Click Share.
Cast videos, music and media
- On the video or media that you're watching, click the Cast
icon.
- You'll see the video or images on your computer and TV, but you’ll only hear sound on your TV. Sounds for other tabs and apps will still play on your computer.
Cast music and videos from your computer
- Launch the Google Chrome browser.
- Click the More
icon on the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
- Click Cast....
NOTES:
- Once Cast... is clicked, the cast icon appears next to the More
icon and a Cast To window will appear.
- When casting web sites or apps like Netflix service, YouTube™ videos, Stan, Presto, or Quickflix, tap the Cast icon on the app or the web site.
- Once Cast... is clicked, the cast icon appears next to the More
- At the top, next to Cast to, click the Down arrow.
- Under Stream a video or audio file, click Cast file.
- Select a file.
- Choose the TV model where you want the file to play.
