Can't hear the TV sound from the soundbar, home theater system, or home audio system

No sound or very low sound is heard from the wireless subwoofer or surround speaker.

    Select the symptom of your device and follow the steps to resolve the issue. Check your manual for model-specific information.

    Note: If there is no sound coming from the wireless subwoofer or surround speaker, or the sound from the wireless subwoofer is low, refer to  No sound comes out of the subwoofer, or the sound is low.

    No sound from the Sound bar/Home theater system or Home audio system

    1. While your TV and audio device are off, verify that the cables between the TV and Audio device are securely connected as shown in the diagram below:
      • When the TV has an HDMI (ARC) label on the HDMI jack (HDMI IN)
        1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (ARC) jack on the TV.
        2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT jack on the Audio device.

          1. HDMI OUTPUT (ARC) on the Sound bar/ Home theater/ Home audio system
          2. HDMI cable (high quality, high-speed HDMI cable)
          3. HDMI INPUT (ARC) on the TV
      • When the TV has no HDMI ARC label on the HDMI jack
        1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to any HDMI IN jack on the TV.
        2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT audio device.
        3. Connect an optical audio cable from the TV's optical digital audio out to the OPTICAL IN on your audio device. If you can't connect with Optical Digital cable use an Audio Analog cable instead.

          2. HDMI cable
          3. HDMI IN TV jack
          4. Optical Digital IN jack
          5. Optical Digital Audio cable
          6. Optical Digital OUT jack
          7. Audio Analog IN jack
          8. Audio Analog cable
          9. Audio Analog OUT jack

          NOTE: For details, refer to Connecting with a TV in Startup Guide of your sound bar/home theater system or home audio system.

    2. Turn on the TV, then your audio device.
    3. Verify that the audio output setting of your TV is set to audio system. Check your TV manual for more details.
    4. Verify that the TV and Audio system Control for HDMI function are enabled.
      NOTE: Set the Control for HDMI (BRAVIA Sync) of the TV and Sound bar to ON.
    5. In the HDMI settings for your audio device, set the Audio Return Channel (ARC) or TV audio input mode to ON or AUTO.
      NOTE: Depending on the model, names and operations may vary, or certain settings may be unavailable. For details, refer to the manual of your audio device.
    6. Verify that the Sound Bar is set to TV input.
      Ex.: HT-Z9F/X9000F
      Press the TV button of the Sound bar remote to switch it to the TV screen.
    7. Change the TV audio output setting to PCM and check whether sound is output. If the Sound Bar connected to the TV does not support compressed audio, sound may not be output depending on the type of broadcast or video. Check your TV manual for more details.

    Sound is low from a sound bar

    There are designated buttons on the sound bar remote that will assist you in quickly and easily making these adjustments.

    1. Increase the volume on the Sound Bar.
    2. Check if the Night Mode is set to ON. Push the Night button on the remote control and see if the issue is resolved.
