I cannot download, install, or update any applications from the Google Play Store.
IMPORTANT:
- This article is for Android TV/Google TV only. If you aren't sure of the type, check if your BRAVIA TV is a Google TV, an Android TV or other.
- For TVs other than Android TV/Google TV, refer to the What apps are available for my TV? article.
Your apps may not install or update from the Google Play™ store for various reasons. Make sure you check if the issue is resolved after each step you perform. These steps may vary depending on the software version (operating system) installed on your TV.
Note: It's recommended to make sure your TV software is updated to the latest version.
When I try to download, install, or update an app from the Google Play Store:
- Applications cannot be installed from the Google Play, Install pending... is shown on their icon in HOME menu.
- A Server error message appears and I cannot access the Google Play Store.
- Check the available storage space. To download an application, the available storage space must be larger than the application size to be installed.
NOTE: If you download an application when the storage is full, the Server error message appears, and you will be unable to access the Google Play Store.- Open the

- Select
Settings.
- On the remote control, press the

- Select System — Storage — Internal shared storage — Available.
- Select Device Preferences — Storage — Internal shared storage — Available.
- Select Storage & reset — Internal shared storage — Available.
- Select Storage & reset — Storage — Available.
- Open the
- If your TV has a Delete demo content setting, perform the following:
NOTE: No demo content found message might be displayed that cannot be deleted.- Open the

- Select System — Storage — Delete demo content — OK.
- Select Device Preferences — Storage — Delete demo content — OK.
- Open the
- If your TV has one of the following settings, perform a cached data clear:
NOTE: Immediately after deleting the cache data, some thumbnails on the HOME screen might be displayed as gray squares.- Open the

- Select System — Storage — Internal shared storage(except for system area) — Cached data — Clear cached data? — OK.
- Select Device Preferences — Storage — Internal shared storage — Cached data — Clear cached data? — OK.
- Open the
- When there is not sufficient available storage space, follow these steps to uninstall unnecessary applications:
NOTE: When an application is uninstalled, all data related to the application is also erased.- Open the

Settings.

- If the remote control does not have a

- On the remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select
Settings.

- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Apps — See all apps.
- Select Apps — See all apps, and then check the Installed apps category.
- Select Apps, and then check the Downloaded apps category.
- Select an application to uninstall.
- Select Uninstall.
- Select OK.
- Open the

For Android™ 9 or earlier, if the measures above do not solve the problem, follow the instructions below:
Cancel all downloading and Installing apps.
Perform a Clear Data and Clear Cache for Google Play services.NOTE: You cannot install restricted applications when the Parental controls have been set. Check the settings by performing the following procedure:
- Press the HOME button on the remote control.
- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Apps — Google Play Store — Settings — Parental controls.
- Select Google Play Store — Settings — Parental controls or Parental controls Settings.
