How to restore folders or files to previous versions in Windows Vista?

    • Restoring the files that are deleted accidentally.
    • Restoring the modified files or folders.
    • Restoring the damaged files.

    User can restore the files or folders in Backup and Restore Center.
    Please refer to the following information to restore files or folders.


    User can use shadow copies or backup copies which are saved on hardware automatically when the files are accidentally deleted or modified.

    Backup copy:
    Use Back Up Wizard to backup copies of files or folders.

    Regarding backup files or folders automatically, please refer to the solutions below.


    Shadow copies:
    Windows restores copies of files and folders with restore point.

    Please refer to the following steps to restore to previous versions.
    1. Right-click the folders to be restored, and then click Restore previous versions.
      ※ The screen below is an example to restore  test in Documents to its previous version.

       
    2. Click Previous Versions, and then select the version user wants to restore to.


      Reference information
      According to the folders versions, click Open to view the contents.
    3. Click Restore....

       
    4. After confirmation, please click Restore.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Click OK to close the window.
