How to shut down or restart the computer?

Although the Shut Down option does the same thing that it did in earlier versions of the Windows operating system, its location and purpose have changed in the Windows Vista operating system. Follow this procedure to see and use the Shut Down option:

1. Click the Start button.
2. On the Start Menu Power  bar, next to the Lock  button, click the arrow button.
3. Click to select the desired Shut Down option.
