Which RAW recording format should I use for my digital camera?
You can choose from four RAW recording formats depending on the image quality, shooting speed, and development speed you want to use.
| RAW recording format | Recommended when... |
|---|---|
| Uncompressed RAW | You want high image quality and fast RAW processing, as this format processes faster in development software than Lossless Compressed RAW. |
| Lossless Compressed RAW | You want to record with the same image quality as Uncompressed RAW but with a smaller file size |
| Compressed RAW (HQ) | You want to record with higher image quality than Compressed RAW |
| Compressed RAW | You want to limit the file size or shoot continuously at the maximum speed |
