Why doesn't the optical drive eject after pressing the eject button when a disc is inserted?
The optical drive doesn't eject after pressing the eject button when a disc is inserted.
This symptom occurs when the DirectCD program is removed from the system memory. Follow the steps below in the respective Windows® environment to avoid this symptom.
- For Windows® 98/98SE/Me/XP
1. Click Start and click Run.
2. Type msconfig and click OK.
3. Click the Startup tab and ensure that the Adaptec DirectCD option is selected.
- For Windows® 2000
1. Start the DirectCD Wizard program.
