If I switch the computer to the standby mode while it is connected to the Internet on Windows Me, the connection is closed. Why is that so?

If I try to switch the computer to the standby or hibernation mode keeping the Internet connection as it is, the following message appears.

    --Message--
"There is an active Dial-Up Networking connection. Suspending your machine will close the connection. Do you wish to continue?"

If I select [Yes], the dial-up connection is closed and the mode changes to the standby or hibernation mode.
If I select [No], the dial-up connection is retained and switching the mode to the standby or hibernation mode is cancelled.
If I do not respond to this message, [Yes] is selected automatically in 15 seconds.

In addition, the line is disconnected for some models and move into the standby or hibernation mode even if I have selected [No].

    Microsoft has confirmed the symptom.

This symptom does not occur when the dial-up connection is closed.
