To dub a music CD to an MD medium, firstly you have to create the following physical settings:

--Settings--
1) In addition to a computer from the PCG-XE series (connect Mini Docking Station PCGA-PSX1 to the computer) and an MD player (e.g. MDS-CD1), prepare a Control A-1 cable and an optical digital cable.
2) Connect the computer and the MD player with the above 2 cables. (Both PCGA-PSX1 and the MD player have the connection ports compatible for these cables.)
3) PCGA-PSX1 is equipped with a switch for selecting the port for the Control A-1 cable and the serial port. Check if this switch is set to the port for the Control A-1.

After the physical settings are done, you can now dub a music CD registered to [Playlist] to an MD medium.

When you dub a music CD to the MD, the package and content names registered to [Playlist] will be dubbed as they are.
* When dubbing a music CD to the MD with [MD Player], the music CD must be registered to [Playlist].

--Brief procedure of dubbing music CD registered to [Playlist] to MD--
1) Select a package that you want to dub from [Media Bar], using either of the methods below:
a. Select the content that you want to dub from [Playlist].
b. Select the content that you want to dub from [Package Search] by pressing the [Search] button on [Media Bar].
2) Begin the dubbing of the content with [MD Player].

a. To select contents that you want to dub from [Playlist]
* The following illustrations are based on [Media Bar Ver.3.2], but the procedure is fundamentally the same in other versions.
1) Insert a music CD in the CD-ROM drive (CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive) and set a writable MD in the MD deck.
2) Start [Media Bar].
* When [Media Bar] is associated to the playback of a music CD, [Media Bar] starts automatically. Hence, there is no need to start [Media Bar] manually.
3) Click the [Playlist] button when it becomes active.
4) When the [Playlist] window appears, select the content that you want to dub.
- Selecting contents while pressing [Shift] or [Ctrl] keys allows you to select multiple contents.
* If you proceed on without selecting any contents, the program will dub all contents in [Playlist] in step 5.
5) Click [Operation] -> [Dubbing] on the toolbar in the [Playlist] window or click the [Dubbing] button.
6) [MD Player] appears and displays the contents name that you want to dub.
7) Dubbing starts when you click [Operation] -> [Start Dubbing] on the toolbar in the [MD Player] window or click the [Start Dubbing] button.

b. To select contents that you want to dub from [Package Search]

5) When the list of contents in the selected package appears in [Contents List], select the contents that you want to dub.
