About View Available Networks (VAN) feature and its usage.
Follow the procedure below to access and use the VAN feature to connect to a WLAN or Wi-Fi network or access point:
1. In the system tray, click the Wireless icon.
2. In the pop-up window, under Wireless Network Connection, click the name of the wireless router or access point to which you would like to connect to expand the selection.
NOTE: If your wireless network is not displayed in the list, it may not be broadcasting the SSID. 3. If this is the case, you will need to manually configure the wireless network.
4. Under the wireless network name, click the Connect button.
NOTE: If the wireless network is not protected with a security key, the next step is not required.
If a network key is required, the Type the network security key window is displayed. Enter the security key in the textbox and then click the OK button.
NOTE: The network key, also called an encryption or security key, is configured on the wireless router or access point. If you are using the default network key, this information may be at the bottom of the router or in the manual. If you configured the router with a custom network key, you may be able to locate it by logging into the router setup page. If you still are unable to find the network key, contact your network administrator or the router manufacturer.
