BOOT ERROR is displayed and the unit cannot be turn on.
It may occur when there is an internal data error in the unit.
Follow the instructions below to format the memory.

Follow the instructions below to format the memory.
- Press Play/Pause button if BOOT ERROR is displayed.
Format OK? appears. - Rotate the shuttle switch to select OK, press Play/Pause button to confirm.
FORMATTING... appears and formatting starts. When formatting is completed, COMPLETE appears.
Note: All data (songs, including sample data installed at the factory, bundled software installer, and the Operation Guide) will be erased after formatting. If formatting does not solve your problem, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
