When an USB mouse is connected to my VAIO, it does not accept the input from the connected USB mouse and the pointing device of the VAIO itself.

Press the "Esc" key to clear the dialog box and restart the computer.

Press the "Esc" key while the "Add New Hardware" is displayed to clear the dialog box. Then, the pointing device of the computer becomes usable. Restart Windows. After the restart of Windows, the USB equipment is properly recognized.
