    About JEITA Measuring Standard


    1. Connect your VAIO computer to an AC power source.
    2. Recover your VAIO computer.
    3. Turn on your VAIO computer.
    4. Show the Start screen and select the Desktop tile or press <windows> key + D.
    5. Delete all icons except the garbage box on the desktop.
    6. Turn the Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock indicator light off on your keyboard. If you are using the wireless keyboard, the turning off operation is unnecessary.


    1. Open File Explorer and select the Local Disk (C:) and right-click on Properties.
    2. Select the Tool tab.
    3. Select the Optimization.
    4. Select the Changing setting.
    5. Uncheck Notify me if three consecutive scheduled runs are missed.
    6. Uncheck Run on a schedule (recommended).
    7. Select OK.
    8. Close all windows on the desktop.

    VAIO CONTROL CENTER SETTINGS (Please skip the step when the item does not exist)

    1. Start VAIO Control Center and set them as follows.
    2. Go to Power and Battery -> Power Plan -> Select Power saver.
    3. Go to Power and Battery -> Cooling and Performance -> Select Silence.
      Note: Please select Silence in both STAMINA and SPEED if your VAIO computer has the performance selector switch.
    4. Go to Power and Battery-> Power Saving -> Set the display refresh rate when running on battery -> Select 40Hz.
    5. Go to Mouse and Keyboard -> Keyboard Backlight -> Set the keyboard backlight action when running on battery -> Select Do not turn on.
    6. Go to Image Quality -> Display Brightness -> Set whether to sense the brightness and automatically adjust the display brightness accordingly -> Select Off.
    7. Go to Image Quality -> Display Color Mode -> Select Off.
    8. Go to Image Quality -> Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 -> Select Off.
    9. Go to Sound Quality -> Sound Effects -> Set the sound effect to use -> Select None. Please skip if you cannot select None.
    10. Go to Hardware -> Rapid Wake -> Select Off.
    11. Go to Other -> Send Usage Data ->Select Off.
    12. Close all windows on the desktop.

    CONTROL PANEL SETTINGS (Please skip the step when the item does not exist)

    1. Go to Control Panel.
    2. Select Large icon or Small icon by View.
    3. Select User accounts -> Change User Account Control settings.
      1. Move the slide bar to Never notify.
      2. Click OK.
      3. Click Control Panel Home.
    4. Select Action Center -> Change Action Center Settings.
      1. Uncheck All enable item.
      2. Go to Customer Experience Improvement Program settings.
      3. Check No, I don't want to participate in the program.
      4. Click Save Changes.
      5. Click OK.
      6. Click Control Panel Home.
    5. Select System -> Advanced system settings -> Advanced tab -> Performance: Settings.
      1. Click Adjust for best performance.
      2. Click OK.
      3. Select Remote tab.
        1. Uncheck Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer.
        2. Click OK.
        3. Click Windows Experience Index or System rating is not available -> Re-run the assessment or Rate this computer.
        4. Click Control Panel Home.
    6. Select Windows Firewall -> Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
      1. Check Turn off windows firewall (not recommended) of Private network setting.
      2. Check Turn off windows firewall (not recommended) of Public network setting.
      3. Click OK.
      4. Click Control Panel Home.
    7. Select Troubleshooting -> Change settings.
      1. Select Off of Computer Maintenance.
      2. Uncheck Allow troubleshooting to begin immediately when started.
      3. Click OK.
      4. Click Control Panel Home.
    8. Select Power Options -> Power saver.
    9. Go to Change plan settings: Power saver.
      1.  Dim the Display -> On battery: Never.
      2.  Turn off the display -> On battery: Never.
      3. Adjust plan brightness -> On battery: Never.
      4. Click Save changes.
    10. Select Power saver.
    11. Go to Change plan settings -> Change advanced power settings.
      1. Go to Harddisk -> Turn off hard disk after -> On battery: 1 Minute.
      2. Go to Desktop background settings -> Slide show -> On battery: Paused.
      3. Go to Sleep.
        1.  Sleep after -> On battery: Never.
        2. Hibernate after -> On battery: Never.
        3.  Allow wake timers -> On battery: Disable.
      4. Go to USB settings -> USB selective suspend setting -> On battery: Enabled.
      5. Go to Intel(r) Graphics Settings -> Intel(R) Graphics Power Plan -> On battery: Maximum Battery Life.
      6. Go to Processor power management.
        1. Go to Minimum processor state -> On battery: 0%.
        2. Go to Maxmum processor state -> On battery: 0%.
      7. Go to Display.
        1.  Dim display after -> On battery: 0 Minutes.
        2.  Turn off display after -> On battery: Never.
      8. Go to Multimedia settings -> When playing video -> On battery: Optimize power savings.
      9. Go to Battery.
        1. Critical battery action -> On battery: Shut down.
        2. Low battery level -> On battery: 0%. Click Yes when alert message display.
        3.  Critical battery level -> On battery: 100%. Click Yes when alert message display.
        4. Low battery notification -> On battery: Off.
        5. Low battery action -> On battery: Do nothing.
        6. Reserve battery level -> On battery: 0%.
    12. Click OK.
    13. Select Language.
      1. Confirm only English on language list.
      2. Remove item when other language exist.
      3. Please add English from Add a language if there is no English.
    14. Select Notification Area Icons.
    15. Go to Turn system icons on or off.
      1. Input indicator : off.
      2. Click OK.
      3. Check Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar.
      4. Click OK.
    16. Close all windows.


    1. Start Windows Media Player and carry out initial setting as follows.
    2. Select Windows Media Player -> Custom Settings -> Next.
    3. Uncheck all the following items, and click Next.
      1. Display media information from the Internet.
      2. Update music files by retrieving media information from the Internet.
      3. Download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file.
      4. Send unique Player ID to content providers.

    24. Select to (None) by Screen Saver.
    25. Click to OK.
    26. Right click to Program icons* (Internet Explore, File Explorer,etc...).
      *It is arranged in the left of the taskbar.
    27. Click to Unpin this program from taskbar.
    28. Above-mentioned is operated for all program icons.

    1. Right click to Speaker icon *right side of taskbar.
    2. Click to Sounds -> Playback tab.
    3. Choice Speaker/HP and click to Properties.
    4. Click to Levels tab.
