India Domestic Service Warranty (For All Products Except VAIO)

We thank you for having purchased this Sony product and are sure you will enjoy it. In the event of your product requiring service, please contact the nearest Sony Service Centre / Authorised Service Centre. In case there is no such service centre in your city, please contact our Toll Free No. (1800-103-7799) for assistance. We advise that you read the instruction manual carefully.

Sony India Pvt. Ltd. (hereafter called “Sony”) warrantees the product to be free from manufacturing defects for a period indicated on the cover, from the time of its original purchase. This non-transferable warranty is only for you, the first end user. If during this period of warranty the product proves to be defective due to improper material or workmanship, Sony Service Centres / Authorised Service Centres will repair the product free of charge subject to the terms and conditions mentioned below.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Warranty will be valid only when the warranty coupons along with the original invoice or sales receipt (indicating the date of purchase, model no. and dealer's name) is presented together with the defective product.
  2. Sony reserves the right to decline warranty service, if the above document cannot be presented or if the information contained is incomplete or tampered.
  3. This warranty shall not cover any damage resulting from adaptations or adjustments which may be made to the product.
  4. This warranty will not apply if the type or serial no. on the product has been altered, removed or defaced.
  5. This warranty does not extend to cabinets, knobs, labels, or any accessories defined in the operating instruction manual supplied with this Sony product.
  6. This warranty does not cover the damage caused to the product due to improper installation by customer and /or connecting the product to equipment not approved by Sony and deficiency in product performance due to signal reception.
  7. This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear to magnetic heads, audio, video, laser pick-ups and TV picture tubes if the product is used in commercial, business, industrial, educational or rental applications.
  8. This warranty does not cover the risk to the product caused by accident, lightening, water, fire, other acts of God, improper ventilation, dropping or excessive shock or any external cause beyond Sony’s control.
  9. This warranty does not affect the consumer's statutory rights under applicable Indian Laws, nor the consumer's rights against the dealer arising from their sales / purchase contract.

Limited Warranty For VAIO

Sony India Limited Warranty and Service Conditions

For the purpose of this Limited Warranty and Service, “Sony” means Sony India Pvt. Limited for this computer hardware product (the “product”) purchased from one of Sony’s official VAIO distributors, in India. Sony offers:

  1. For the period of one (1) year from the date of delivery, sony warrants that the product is free from defects in materials and workmanship and in conformity with the respective specification of the product.
  2. Upon discovery of a defect in materials, workmanship or failure to meet the specifications in the product during such one (1) year period, Sony shall, at Sony’s sole discretion, either repair such product or replace it with the ide3ntical type of product without charging any technical labor fee and repair parts cost for you, on the condition that you bring such product to Sony’s service shops for VAIO within such one (1) year period. In case of repair or replacement, Sony may own all the parts removed from the defective products. Sony may use new and/or reconditioned parts made by various manufactures in performing warranty repairs and replacement of the Product. Even if Sony repairs or replaces the Product, its original one (1) year warranty term is not extended
  3. This limited warranty covers only the hardware components contained in the product. It does not cover technical assistance for hardware or software usage and it does not cover any software products contained in the product; Sony excludes all warranties express or implied in respect of any software provided with product and any such software is provided “AS IS” unless expressly provided for in any enclosed software limited warranty. Please refer to the End user license agreement included with product for your right with regard to the licensor or supplier of the software parts of the product and the parties’ respective obligations with respect to the software.
  4. This limited warranty is non-transferable.
  5. With respect to all service provided, it is your responsibility prior to product service to backup the contents of your hard drive, including any data you have stored or software you have installed on the hard drive. It is likely that the contents or your hard drive will be lost or reformatted in the course of service and Sony will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs, data or other information stored on any media or any part of the product serviced hereunder or damage or loss arising from the product not being available for use before or during or after the period of service provided or any indirect or consequential damages resulting there-form.
  6. IF DURING THE REPAIR OF THE PRODUCTS THE CONTENTS OF THE HARD DRIVE ARE ALERTED, DELETED, OR IN ANY WAY MODIFIED, SONY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE WHATSOEVER, YOUR PRODUCT WILL BE RETURN TO YOU CONFUGURED AS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED.
  7. Be sure to remove all third parties’ hardware, software features, parts, options, alterations, and attachments not warranted by Sony prior to product services. Sony is not responsible for any loss or damages to these items.
  8. This warranty is limited as set out herein and does not cover, inter alia, any consumable items supplied with the Product; any accessory products which is not contained in the Product (such as mouse, port replicator, and external speaker); damage or loss to any software programs, data, or removable storage media; or damage due to (1) acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use or modifications of Product; (2) improper operation or maintenance of the product; (3) connection to improper voltage supply; or (4) attempted repair by any party other  than a Sony authorized personal computer services facility. AC adaptor & supplied batteries will be covered under one (1) year warranty.
  9. This limited warranty does not apply when the malfunction results from the use of the Product in conjunction with any accessories, products or ancillary or peripheral equipment, or where it is determined by Sony that there is no fault with the Product itself. This limited warranty is valid only in India. This limited warranty is invalid if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from the Product.
  10. SONY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES THAN   STATED HEREINABOVE, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITED BY LAW


    2. Telephone Support:

    1. Sony offer telephone support (“Support”) to you without charge over the telephone for ninety (90) days from the date of delivery for problems regarding the Product except for any third party software products in accordance with the then-current terms and conditions set by Sony. Sony offers you for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery, Support relating to Sony’s software and operating systems originally provided by Sony as a part of the Product shall be provided without charge to you.
    2. Sony will not offer Support to you for problems regarding any software or hardware products licensed or sold by any party other than Sony. If you need such Support, you shall contact the respective supplier or licensor of each software or hardware product.
