LCD/LED TV Extended Warranty Terms & Conditions

Sony India Pvt. Ltd. (here after, “Sony”) provides Limited Extended Warranty for the LCD/LED TV product (here after, “Product”), officially imported by Sony.

  1. The Limited Extended warranty can be purchased within the expiry date of one year Sony initial standard Warranty.
  2. Limited Extended Warranty for a period of + two (2) years shall apply and extend warranty period from 1 year to 3 years from date of purchase. During this extended warranty period if the product is found defective in materials and/or workmanship and not in conformity with the stipulated specifications of the product. Sony Service Centres / Authorised Service Centres will repair the product on terms and conditions below:
    • Extended Warranty will be provided only when this Extended Warranty Card, in original, is presented at the time of requisition for service.
    • Sony reserves the right to decline service if the above document is not presented or if the information contained is incomplete or the Extended Warranty Card is found tampered.
    • In the event of finding of a defect in material/s, and/or workmanship or finding of non-conformity to meet the stipulated specification/s in the product during the extended period, Sony shall, at its sole discretion, either repair the product free of any charge or replace it with a product of having comparable specifications and features, In case of repair or replacement, Sony shall have ownership right to the defective part replaced or the defective product as the case may be. Sony may use new and/or reconditioned parts to carry out repairs under warranty. The warranty period shall not be extended in the event of repairs undertaken or replacement made.
    • This Extended Warranty in non-transferable and shall be valid for service only in India.
    • This Extended Warranty shall not cover damage/s pursuant to un-authorised adaptations made contrary to stipulated specifications for the product and/ or adjustments to the product carried out at & by unauthorised service providers.
    • This Extended Warranty will be void if the type or serial number marked on the product has been altered, removed or in any manner defaced.
    • This Extended Warranty does not cover any external accessories mentioned in the operating instruction manual supplied with this product or any cosmetic parts.
    • This Extended Warranty does not cover damage caused to the product due to improper installation by customer and / or connection of the product to equipment not approved by manufacturer and not compatible with the product. It shall also not apply to cases where deficiency in product performance is attributable to poor signal reception provided through third party supplied apparatus/equipment or the use of third party software and/or recorded media.
    • This Extended Warranty does not apply if the product has been used for commercial, business, industrial, educational or rental applications.
    • This Extended Warranty shall not apply in cases of damages caused to the product by accident, lightning, ingress of water, fire or Acts of God, improper ventilation, accidental dropping or excessive shock or any external cause beyond Sony’s control. This Extended Warranty shall not affect consumer’s statutory rights under applicable Indian Laws.

    Sony India – “+” Two (2) Years Extended Warranty


    Limited Warranty and Service Conditions

    For purpose of this limited warranty and service, “Sony” means Sony India Pvt. Limited for this computer hardware product (the “Product”) purchased from one of Sony’s official VAIO distributors, in India. Sony offers:

    1. To be purchased within the limited warranty of one (1) year
    2. Limited Warranty
      • For a period of + two (2) years*. From the expiry date of one year initial standard warranty, Sony warrants that the product is free from defects in materials and workmanship and in conformity with the respective specifications of the product.
      • Upon discovery of a defect in materials, workmanship or failure to meet the specification in the product during such + two (2) year period*, Sony shall, at Sony’s sole discretion, either repair such product or replace it with the identical type of product without charging any technical labour fee and repair parts at cost to you, on the condition that you bring such product to Sony’s service shops for VAIO within such two (2) year period*, In case of repair or replacement, Sony may own all the parts removed from the defective products. Sony may use new and/or reconditioned parts made by various manufacturers in performing warranty repairs and replacement of the product. Even if Sony repairs or replaces the product, its original + two (2) years* warranty term is not extended.
      • This limited warranty covers only the hardware components contained in the product. It does not cover technical assistance for hardware or software usage and it does not cover any software products contained in the product: Sony excludes all warranties express or implied in respect of any software provided with product any such software is provided “AS IS” unless expressly provided for in any enclosed software limited warranty. Please refer to parties’ respective obligations with respect to the software.
      • This limited warranty in non-transferable.
      • With respect to all service provided, it is your responsibility prior to product service to backup the contents of your hard drive, including many data you have installed on the hard drive. It is likely that the contents of your hard drive will be lost or reformatted in the course of service and Sony will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs data or other information stored on any media or any part of the product serviced hereunder or damage or loss arising from the product not being available for user before or during or after the period of service provided or any indirect or consequential damages resulting there-from
      • Be sure to remove all third parties’ hardware, software, features, parts, options, alterations, and attachments not warranted by Sony prior to Product service. Sony is not responsible for any loss or damage to these items.
      • This warranty is limited as set out herein and does not cover, inter alia, any consumable items (such as batteries) supplied with the Product; any accessory products which is not contained in the Product (such as mouse, AC adaptor, port replicator and external speaker); damage or loss to any software programs, data, or removable storage media; or damage due to
        • acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use or modifications of Product;
        • Improper operation or maintenance of the Product;
        • connection to improper voltage supply; or
        • attempted repair by any party other than a Sony authorized personal computer service facility
        • dead pixels in LCD panel
      • This limited warranty does not apply when the malfunction results from the use of the Product in conjunction with any accessories, products or ancillary or peripheral equipment, or where it is determined by Sony that there is no fault with the Product itself. This limited warranty is valid only in India. This limited warranty is invalid if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from the Product.
    3. Telephone Support:
      • Sony offers telephone support (“Support”) to you without charge over the telephone for ninety (90) days from the date of delivery for problems regarding the Product except for any third party’s software products in accordance with the then-current terms and conditions set by Sony. Sony offers you for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery, Support relating to Sony’s software and operating systems originally provided by Sony as a part of the Product shall be provided without charge to you.
      • Sony will not offer Support to you for problems regarding any software or hardware products licensed or sold by any party other than Sony. If you need such Support, you shall contact the respective supplier or licensor of each such software or hardware product.
