How to resolve if noise can be seen around characters?

KDL-32EX500, KDL-40EX500, KDL-46EX500, KDL-46EX700, KDL-55EX500

Question

Noise can be seen around characters (at left and right sides of characters, at spaces between characters) under the following situations:
  • in the Home menu
  • each setup screen
  • CC (Closed Captions) or Teletext displays
  • in the Photo Playback
  • in the PC or HDMI input

Answer

This is not a malfunction. The noise symptoms may appear in specific situations. If they are annoying, change the Scene Select setting to General and then Motion Flow setting to Standard or Strong in order to reduce the noise, do note that by doing so the optimized picture quality will be lost for the input.
