Can the sound be monitored while recording?

Article ID:301625(modified 23 Feb 2011)

Applicable Models

ICD-BX700, ICD-PX720, ICD-PX820, ICD-PX820M

Question

Monitoring sound while recording.

Answer

Yes, the sound can be monitored while recording by connecting the supplied headphone to the headphone jack. Even if the monitoring volume is changed, the recording level will be the same.

NOTE:
If the monitoring sound is very loud or the headphone is close to IC recorder, the microphone may pick up the sound from the headphone. This may cause a howling sound to be heard.

*Stereo recording is possible when an external stereo microphone is used and the recording mode is set to either SHQ or HQ.
