Does my VAIO computer support the standards of a double density CD-R/RW?

You cannot write data or read them from the media for these standards (double density disc media that support drives with DDCD standards) (as of April 2001).

--Remarks--
The DDCD standards were developed by Sony in July 2000, by expanding the recording capacity of the current CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW standards to 1.3GB.
Based on the standards of CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW, Sony realized the recording capacity of 1.3GB, which is double the capacity of the current, by enhancing functions including error correction and address systems, and at the same time shortening the track pitch and the bit length.
This is the optimum standard for storing large files and archives in consideration of the recent increasing opportunities of handling large-volume data along with the development of higher-performance computers.
