Please confirm the related information by sequence.

STEP 1 After forcefully shutting down Windows, please confirm whether PC can shut down properly after restarting.
STEP 2 Disconnect LAN network connections.
STEP 3 Remove the peripheral and updated devices.
STEP 4 Please confirm whether PC can shut down properly after restoring default settings on BIOS.
STEP 5 Please confirm whether PC can shut down properly in the Safe Mode.

STEP 7 Restore System
STEP 8 Perform a Disk Scan
STEP 9 Perform Disk Defragmenter
STEP 10 Perform Installation Recovery






STEP 1 After forcefully closing Windows, please confirm whether PC can shut down properly after restarting.


Note
Here are steps to shut down the PC forcefully.
Performing the steps below may destroy founded database.
Besides, the operation system will perform Disk Scanning automatically when restarting PC, and Windows may start in Safe Mode.
Restart PC after shutting down, and then please refer to the on-screen instructions during restart process, then close the system via Start-Shut Down-Shut Down Windows or Shut down.

If the system has no response after pressing Enter, please press and hold the Power button for more than 4 seconds to forcefully shut down the PC.

Unable to access the menu of Shut Down Windows to shut down PC.

  • For Windows Vista
    When pressing Alt + F4 simultaneously for several times, the interface of Shut Down Windows appear.
    When it appears, please click to select Shut Down, then click OK to turn off the PC.

    If the interface does not appear, please try the operations below.
    1. Please press Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the same time.

    2. Click Task Manager on the displayed interface.

    3. After Windows Task Manager appears, please click User operation card, then click Log off to quit.

    4. If the information below appears, please click Log Off.

    5. After the interface of User Operation displays, please click in the lower right, and then select Shut down in the displayed menu.

  • For Windows XP
    When pressing Alt + F4 simultaneously for several times, Shut Down Windows will appear.
    When it appears, please click to select Shut down, then click OK to turn off the PC.

    If the interface does not appear, please try the operations below.
    1. Please press Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the same time.

    2. After Windows Task Manager appears, please click Windows Shut Down menu, then click Shut down
If the operations can not be performed, please press and hold the Power button for more than 4 seconds to forcefully shut down the PC.


If the PC still cannot be shut down after pressing and holding Power button for more than 4 seconds.

  • Pull out the connect power line and remove the Power Adapter and Battery.
As a precaution, please initialize the BIOS setting first and confirm whether the settings of data and time are correct when restarting the PC.
Windows maybe can not run properly because of the wrong information.

If the situation can not be improved, please refer to STEP 2.





STEP 2 Disconnect LAN Network Connections.


Disconnect LAN network connections and confirm whether the PC can be shut down.
The power may be unable to be cut off when network and operating system are in correspondence.

If the situation can not be improved,please refer to STEP 3.





STEP 3 Remove the peripheral and updated devices.


Please confirm whether the power can be cut off after uninstalling peripheral and updated devices(Memory, Hard disc, Mouse, PC card).
If the power can be cut off after uninstalling peripheral and add device, it is possible that there are problems with the drivers of the removed devices.
Please consult the device dealer, whether PC is installed device drivers are compatible with the PC (operating system or PC standard).

Note
If not using the original Sony mouse, Windows may not shut down the system properly.
Please confirm whether the PC can be shut down after removing the mouse.

STEP 6 Reset


Please perform restoration according to the following steps and confirm whether the PC can be shut down.

  1. Pressing and holding the Power button for more than 4 seconds can forcefully shut down the PC.
    Attention, if do not hold the button for enough time, the PC may not be shut down.

  2. Remove power adapter, battery and connect lines, stand 1 minute.

  3. Please confirm whether the power can be cut off after reconnecting power.
