How to display content from a camera to the TV

You can use Wi-Fi to display your pictures on a TV without using a cable, if the TV is either:

  • network enabled
  • Wi-Fi Direct enabled
  • able to support DLNA renderers

If you want to show video files on your TV you need to use an HDMI cable (sold separately).

Some TVs need to be set up before you can show pictures wirelessly. If model-specific features or functions are required while following these steps, refer to the supplied manual.

  1. Enable the Wi-Fi Direct setting on the TV.

    NOTES:

    • Not all TVs with an Internet connection support Wi-Fi Direct. Check the manual supplied with the TV for additional information.
    • If using a Sony TV follow these steps to set up the Wi-fi Direct feature .
  2. Using the camera, press the Menu button.
  3. Select Wireless Image
     
  4. Select View on TV.

    NOTE: This step may differ depending on the model. When using some older models, you may have to select Playback before selecting View on TV.

  5. Wait a few moments for the camera to search and display all of the available devices to the list. This will include the TV.
  6. Select the TV from the list of devices to connect to.

    NOTE: When connecting to a Sony TV, BRAVIA TV may appear.

  7. It may take some time for the images to appear on the screen.
    To play back your images in a slideshow, press the circular button on the centre of the control wheel. Scroll through images by pressing the left and right sides of the control wheel.

    To change which device is connected to the camera, press the bottom of the control wheel and choose Device list.
  8. Press the bottom of your camera’s control wheel to change your slideshow settings.
    • Playback selection
      Choose which images to include in the slideshow
    • Folder view (still)
      Select [All] or [All in Folder]
    • Date view
      Select [All] or [All in date range]
    • Interval
      Select [Short] or [Long]
    • Effects
      Turn effects on or off. This only works on compatible BRAVIA TVs
    • Playback image size
      Choose HD or 4K picture size
