I cannot make a Wi-Fi connection between the camera and smartphone.
Check the following steps.
NOTE:
- To connect the camera and smartphone via Wi-Fi, the dedicated application, PlayMemories Mobile, is needed. If you already downloaded the application, update it to the latest version.
https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/disoft/int/playmemories-mobile/en/download.html - For iPhone, tap Settings, turn on the Wi-Fi, select camera's SSID, and then make a Wi-Fi connection.
- You cannot connect the camera to the smartphone via Wi-Fi if the software version of the camera is not the latest version. Update the software to the latest version.
For details, refer to the support page of each product. - Remove the battery and the memory card from the camera and reinsert them, then connect to Wi-Fi from the beginning.
NOTE:- If the recordable memory card is not inserted to the connected camera, you may not be able to connect the camera via Wi-Fi.
- Check that each side of the memory card is facing the correct direction.
- Turn off the camera and the smartphone and turn them on again.
- Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on each LCD screen of the camera and smartphone. When Wi-Fi is enabled, a Wi-Fi mark is displayed on the screen.
NOTE: When an airplane mark is displayed on the LCD screen, the airplane mode is enabled. In this case, you cannot make a Wi-Fi connection. Disable the airplane mode. Follow the procedure below and check that your camera has a suitable setting.-

If a Wi-Fi mark is not displayed on the display panel of the camera or the bar is displayed above the mark, press the Wi-Fi button until only the Wi-Fi mark is displayed.
